The Medieval and Later Pottery Research Group aims to bring together people who have an interest in pottery made, traded, and used in Europe between the end of the Roman period and the 19th century.

As a registered charity, we promote education and training in post-Roman ceramic studies, hold an annual conference, Regional Group meetings across the UK, and produce a range of publications, including the Group’s annual journal Medieval Ceramics.

We look forward to welcoming you to the MLPRG annual conference, this year to be held in the beautiful Colchester Castle. The theme of this year’s conference is recent ceramic research, with a particular emphasis on the early medieval period (c AD500–1000).
